Week 32 (wow!!!)

Well, that was a quick week.
And it was a good one!
I would like to relate some things with you.
1 - Heavenly Father always answers prayers.
My companion and I were out knocking doors, in the evening. After about 15 doors, with no success, I Received a prompting to say a prayer. So, that is what we did. We chose a house, and in the prayer we said, to HF, okay we are going to know that house, and they are going to let us in, and we are going to put a baptismal date.
After the prayer, we knocked the door, entered the house, and put a baptismal date. It is a wonderful family of 7, AND they all came to church this Sunday! Nice. I know.

2 - We can not merely read the scriptures, but we must feast over the scriptures.
If we merely read, we lose some very important things. I would like to give you all an example. In the Bible, New Testament, In the book of Matthew, we find something really cool. In Chapter 4 verse 11 we read about how after Christ had been tempted by Satan, it says that Angles came and ministered unto him. BUT, we can look at footnote a. And what do we learn from that? We find an example of charity by the Lord. (you have to go find it. It is really cool. And easy to find)

I am loving life as a missionary, and am learning more and more.
Todo bien en Zion.
Espero que podamos continuar a aprender del ejemplo de Cristo.

This area might kill me.
I am just climbing and climbing mountains.
Our house is at the top of the mountain, and their is another mountan that we have to climb to teach people, and there is another mountain behind that.
Every night, we have to climb the mountain to go home. It is 20 minutes of pure walking straight up.
Whew... now that my ranting is done...
This is a great area! A good thing is that now the members actually want to work. In my other area, all we got was excuses. But here, we have people ask us when they need us. This week we found 12 new investigators, that is a lot. The only problem about Mexico, is that everyone is a religious genious. We knock a door, and then wait for the next 10 minutes for the Christian to tell us (more like shout with the spirit of God), about how they have accepted Jesus in their lives.
"That is awesome Brother! So, what works are you doing to show this faith?"
"Uhh... well i know that if i BELIEVE i will be saved."
"Okay Brother, have a nice night."
Its kindof cool, after all this studying, i can actually carry some biblical conversations quoting scriptures and all. I enjoy talking to the people.
Nice to hear life is normal. How is it going with getting a job? Still something that you want to do?

Welcome Elder Cruz to our lives

After a wonderful, hard, a v,asbvasgbsdg bnas, 6 months in Las Villas, I HAVE LEFT.
Yes, it has been six months since i left the ccm.
Where am I? Who am i with?
I am now in an area named Agua Caliente. I am still in Tijuana.
My new companion is Elder Cruz! Elder Cruz is from Oaxaca, MX. And he is a little farther in the mission than I am. Actually, he only has two transferes left. Yeesh.
My new area is full of hills. Everywhere we go, we go straight up, or straight down. Nice, right?
Any of you who are looking for a get-skinny-quick program, I invite you to visit me. Well, not visit me. That is against the rules. But we can return to this area if you would like.
I it actually really cool. I can see basically all of Tijuana from my house.
Cool short experience:
We contacted a man, and told him we were Representatives of Jesus Christ.
He then, like most people, proceeded to tell us about how we were wrong and all that the Bible really says. then, it came. A prompting.A thought."Ask him if he has ever wanted to quit smoking," it told me.
and with all the courage i could muster... i asked. "Well of course!" He exlaimed. Then, realizing there is no way i should know that, asked me how i knew. I told him that, as we had explained, we were Representatives of Jesucristo, and we were there to help him with that. Sadly, he still rejected us.
But what can we learn?!
The spirit is always ready. It is us, that sometimes arent ready to recieve revelation. If we are listening, it will come.
I will give you all more updates next week!

love you all! Con amor, Elder Scoubes
