Her name is Yamileth. She is a 16 year old boss, and future missionary.
And with the mercy of the Lord, she was able to get baptized 2 weeks earlier than we had planned!
It helps me to know that these people are out here.
There is an older lady in our ward, and she is a less active.
We have probably visited her like 10 times, and she has yet to come to church.
One day, we had an ex Elder join us to do some visits. And so we decided to go with her.
That lesson that we had with her, was one of the sweetest things. The spirit was super strong.
What was the difference?
I remember in UVCC (choir), we learned that we have to sing every concert like it is the first time that we are doing it. So that it is the best we can do, every single time.
We realized that, after so much time with her, and little success, we had jumped into a routine.
We show up, teach a lesson, and leave, with her or us hardly feeling edified.
I now pose the question, How many things do we do in our lives, just as a routine?
Read the Scriptures,
Do our chores,
Tell mom you love her,
If we fall into a routine in our lives, we are missing the experiences that our Heavenly Father has in store for us.
I hope that, just as I learned in choir, we can all do everything, like it is the first time we are doing it. That way, we get the most out of all of the things that our Father in Heaven wants to teach us.
