This week was awesome. As I have told you, i am currently in a little branch with about 40 people attending. That means that my comp and i have a ton of work to do.
Im going to give you the highlight of each day, woo.
Well it was just pday, but we went with Presidente de Rama (Branch President), and we put a ton of goals on what we can do to help the Branch. The work is about to pick up.
We had out district meeting in Mexicali, so that meant we had to wake up at 5 to get on a 2 hour bus. Woo. Including the 2 hours back, we were on a bus for 4 hours. Yup, that is normal. That is basically all that happened.
Well, i realized today, that after one transfer with an English speaking comp, i lost a little of my spanish. Very little, but more often i am getting peole that are like, uhhhhhh what you said didnt make sense. Dont worry, ill get it. Also, Armando and Maribel, out next two baptisms live in another village, so we have to go with a member in a car. Its the best. Sunsets, arm hanging out of a truck, and awful mexican music. Does it get any better?
We had a suuuper cool experience! A few days ago, we contacted a girl named Astrid. We went to the appointment that we put. She pulled the card out of her pocket that we gave her, and put it on the table. She said that she had had a dream a few days before, and the question on the card was what she was wondering. She told us her whole dream, we related it to the gospel and how she was prepared for baptism. She now has a baptismal date for November.
THE LORD IS A LORD OF PREPARATION. HE PUTS PEOPLE WHERE THEY NEED TO BE.
First off, 3 different dogs at 3 different times in the day tried to eat my comp. ( I guess they dont like his new haircut.) That was a normal day, but i saw a miracle at night. Well, i experienced it. WE showed up at the house, and within a matter of 5 minutes, i came down with a headache, neausea, chills, sweating non stop, and dizzyness. We called the mission Pres. wife, and she said that i had ANOTHER stomach infecion. Frustrated with the fact that that would interfere with our work schedule, i asked my comp for a blessing. I Can litterally say, that the moment the blessing was done, i was better. I felt good, slept well, and havent had problems since. THE PRIESTHOOD IS REAL.
Just a funny thing, we are always on bikes. (oh hey mom i had to buy a new bike.) So when we were going back to the house, we had a group of like 15 mexicaN KIds on bikes follow us around. It was fun. I knew that, coming on a mission, i would get spiritual experience. I just wasnt expecting biker gang experience. Bad to the freakin bone.
A wonderful day at church. MMMMMMMM yeah.
That was my week.
And may i say, that we are really having success. We had a FULL Ward council after months of not having it. We are currently teaching English classes, Bible study classes, and Family History classes. We are working in the branch as secratary, and young men class teachers.
THE WORK IS MOVING ON.
Remember, the secret to success, is simply hard work.
