What. a. week.

First off...
TRANSFERES. Yup. And...
Mi compaƱero se va a Tijuana con el Elder Gaspar.
Y yo me voy a quedar con... el Elder Sanchez!

My companion is going to Tijuana with Elder Gaspar. Well, we did get transferred, and Elder Winsor went. That was the hardest goodbye i have had yet. It wasn't just always with a companion. I was always with my friend. But that's okay. We have a ton of plans to play minecraft when we get home. Yes. Minecraft. MMMMM.
And i'm going to stay here with... Elder Sanchez!
Elder Sanchez is from Coahuila. He is 19 years old, and he is awesome.
Suuuuper excited to work our pompis off!
This week was awesome. Highlight??
One of the councilors of the Mexico area Presidency came to visit!
Well, actually that was last week. But i forgot to tell. Srry.
We each got to shake his hand. Can i just say, I have never just seen pure love and devotion and work and the spirit looking into someone’s eyes. That was awesome.
He talked to us about our calling as missionaries. I was able to learn so much about why i am here, and what i need to accomplish.
This week, whilst doing my morning personal study, i received revelation.
I was studying for a couple that are preparing for baptism, and i was thinking about how i could apply the lesson that we were going to teach directly to their lives. And then it hit me, and i understood the gospel in a way that i never had before.
We learn that in the scriptures, like the bible, Jesus Cristo invites us to be like His Father, who is perfect.
He is always inviting us to be perfect.
That is the point of it all. So that we can become perfect. Now, i recognize that during our lives, that is something that we will not achieve. But we can progress.
I want you to realize that I received this revelation while trying to apply tithing to them. Even a commandment so simple, and we can learnobedience, patience, love, work, humility, etc. ALL OF THAT FROM JUST ONE SIMPLE COMMANDMENT.
What would we be like if we obey allllll the commandments with exactness?
We would be on the road to perfection.
Again, I say that we will not achieve it during this life. But it should be our goal. Perfection. Christ like.
And i testify that He will help us get there. Every step of the way.
This gospel is beautiful, you are amazing.
I love you all.

Trevor's comp Elder Winsor Sept. 19, 2016

This week was pretty good.  We started out on tuesday going on divisions with Elder Kelson and Elder Torres. Then, Wednesday Elder Pino, from the area seventy presidency came, and we had a fun talk. He talked about our calling, and how important it is that we are missionaries. Then, that night, we went over to Tijuana to get all the papers ready to renew the green card. We got a super comfy bus, and had an enjoyable night that night, able to spend time with some old friends, such as Elder Gwilliam, Elder Peck, and Elder Valdez. When we went to Tijuana, we stayed with the secretaries there. The next day, we went to get fingerprinted, and went home. It was kind of ridiculous all the time we spent travelling just to get fingerprinted, but such is the life of an american in mexico. Friday we were able to work in our sector, and got some good work done. Also, we finished 1 year!!!!!

It was super fun to be with Elder Scoubes, since we are of the same generation. We had a normal day, and that night, went out to a secluded spot, loaded our shirts up with bug spray, and lit them up! It was super cool. It was also Independence day for Mexico, so the branch had a little fiesta. Time is flying by super fast. With completing a year, the end of the mission just got a little bit more real, and it is coming up fast. I still have a year to go, but it is crazy to think that I have been gone from home for a whole year. Time sure is flying.  When you aren't a missionary, you kind of question how fast time really flies, but when you get in the mission, it is super fast! You have to take advantage of every moment.

1 year down and 1 to go!!!!

Yeah im not really sure.

But it has been amazing.
Its awesome to see the change and growth. Maybe im still not the best missionary in the field, but i now understand this whole gospel thing.
We are with a return missionary this week, and he told us something that i was able to connect to.

He said the mission has given me a testimony that i can no longer deny. And I now feel dependent on church. I feel the need to go to church and renew my covenants. I feel the need to go to the temple, and have alone time with my Heavenly Father.
And after this year, that is what i have come to feel.
I now have a need for the gospel in my life. I depend on it.
And i dont know what i would do without it.

Well, the mish is awesome. Im having the time of my life. Its hard, its hot, but its worth it.

Aug 29

This week was pretty good. Elder Scoubes and I have gone on all sorts of adventures, and we get along really well. We are pretty similar, and find the same things funny, so we are off to a great start.
Tuesday was the start of all our adventures. We went into Mexicali as usual for the District Meeting, but they changed the location on us. They changed the location because of some renovations to the building, or something like that, but now it will be back to normal. We were told to take a certain bus, but when we did, we ended up in the middle of nowhere. We got so lost! We took it the other way, but still didn`t find the church, so we ended up taking a taxi, and got to the meeting an hour late! It was super crazy.

Then, on Thursday, we had to go into Mexicali again, because we had to send in our papers to renew our gringo cards, and we don`t have a packaging system here. The mission does all the visa stuff. We just had to send in our signatures so they are able to do it. We got to the bus stop ten minutes after the bus had come, so had to wait an hour and a half for the next bus. Then on the bus a guy got on, and started talking about changing the world, and a motivational speech thing. Then, he started handing out free juices, and turns out that he then started talking about those people who didn`t take a juice, (Me and my companion, and a few others) don`t know God or the Bible, because we could have gone and given the juice to a person on the street who was thirsty. It was really interesting to see how he manipulated the topic, and could get away with it. It just goes to show that with enough words and eloquence, you can convince people of anything. But, as missionaries, we don't convince, that is the Spirit`s job.
